St. Christina Athletics

About Our Program

POLICY

The purpose of the St. Christina Athletic Association (SCAA) is to enhance the value of the Parish and Family through teamwork and sportsmanship. We pledge to foster mutual relationships with student-athletes in a nurturing environment that will enhance intellectual, ethical, spiritual, athletic, and social development. The purpose of SCAA is to develop team loyalty and team spirit by cooperating with other teammates and the coaches and to build self-esteem, self-confidence, character and respect for others.

PHILOSOPHY

Together as a Catholic Parish and the SCAA, we strive to promote the spiritual and moral growth, academic achievement, as well as participation in sports for each and every child of the parish. In order to achieve maximum growth in each area, we strive to provide athletic programs that will set positive examples of Christian values and opportunity for providing a learning experience promoting growth of those participating.

Participation in these programs is contingent upon a student’s achievement in the academic, spiritual and moral areas of parish life. The success of our sports program should not be measured simply by the number of games won, but rather how each individual was given the opportunity to grow as a person, teammate and athlete. The participation in the athlete program at St. Christina Parish is a privilege and not a right.
