Homebound Visitation Program
Ministers of Care bring communion regularly to those who are homebound due to the aging process, life-threatening illness, surgery, or short-term illness.
Faith and Church have been a vital part of the lives of these people. It is important that we, now, reach out to those experiencing limitations and health problems. Oftentimes, we in ministry are unaware of such situations, and we really count on your help. It sometimes happens that we find out after the fact that someone hasn’t been able to attend Mass for awhile. If you know of a relative, friend, or neighbor who has not been able to attend Mass, please ask the person if he/she would like to have communion brought to them at home.
If someone would like to have communion brought to the home, please contact Sister Ann Vincent at 773-445-6779.

St. Christina Homebound Program with School - May 2019
Sister Ann Vincent has done a fine job pairing each homeroom in our school with a homebound person. The students enjoyed writing to their homebound person throughout the school year, especially around the holidays. The fifth graders of Room 14 had the opportunity to meet Mrs. Morelli, their homebound person.
We invited Mrs. Morelli to the Parish Center. Thanks to her family she was able to come. It was a memorable moment for the students and for Mrs. Morelli. She told the students about herself and the students were able to ask her questions. She said how she enjoyed those cards and items that we sent her throughout the year. She read those cards over and over again. She has them all hanging up. Mrs. Morelli said that she will never forget them. The students will certainly never forget her kindness and creativity. What a wonderful moment it was for everyone!!
Thank you, Sister Ann, for that opportunity, and thank you for inviting the school to the convent to receive blessed religious articles. The students look forward to this every year.
