What's New

The St. Christina Website has been updated!

Technology is an asset for Catholic Parishes and St. Christina has decided to partner with our Bulletin printer, LPi, to revamp our website!

First and foremost, we'd like to thank our long-time Parish Webmaster, Hugo Lugo. Mr. Lugo dedicated almost 20 years to maintaining and updating the site for our Parish, well known as someone extraordinarily easy to work with and always going the extra mile. On behalf of all of St. Christina: Thank You, Hugo! We look forward to seeing where your next adventures will lead you!

Moving forward, we ask parishioners and St. Christina Auxiliary Group Leaders to email website@stchristinaparish.org for any website updates or information to be posted.

Treasure Chest Raffle & Picnic Meeting

St. Christina will have a Treasure Chest Raffle & Picnic meeting on
Thursday, May 21st at 7:00 p.m. in the School Hall.  The Treasure Chest Raffle sold out last year before the picnic began, so we decided to add a second Early Bird Drawing!  Any interested ticket sellers can stop by the Rectory or attend this meeting to pick up tickets.  We are hoping to gain a crew of after-Mass ticket sellers at this meeting!  Also, we will begin conversations on this summer's St. Christina Picnic, being held on Sunday, August 16th.  Last year's picnic was a great time, and we'd like to go even bigger this year!

Sunday, May 31, 2026 – Voting will take place before and after 8:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 5:00 p.m. Mass in the Parish Center.

Colleen Clohessy “I want to serve on the School Advisory Committee because I am deeply invested in this community, the parish and this school. I have been a proud Cardinal parent since 2018 when my daughter, Sadie, started PreK 3 and since then I have looked for ways to support this wonderful place. I have attended many SAC meetings over the past year and want to be a part of its future. Over the years I have had the opportunity to serve St. Christina as a volleyball coach, fish fry volunteer, helped with the Homebound Ministry, 100 th anniversary committee member, SPRED

Catechist and now look to continue in this capacity. I will blend my passion for this community with my expertise from 17 years as a schoolteacher and aim to improve OUR children’s school experience. I will bring a fresh perspective focused on supporting St. Christina’s continued growth and look to strengthen its appeal to families in our neighborhood.”

Bill Matt “My interest in serving on the St. Christina School Advisory Committee is rooted in a multigenerational connection to the parish and school community. As the parent of a third generation “Matt” preparing to begin her academic journey at St. Christina, I feel a strong responsibility to contribute to the continued excellence of the school that has shaped my family for decades. St. Christina’s legacy is built on engaged parents, community members and dedicated faculty who have consistently prioritized not only academics, but also the development of character, faith, and social responsibility. I am committed to supporting that legacy by helping ensure the school continues to deliver a high-quality curriculum alongside an environment that fosters well-rounded, respectful students who are prepared to succeed in high school and beyond. In addition to personal ties, I bring a well-rounded perspective shaped by both my professional and community involvement. My career as a Local 399 Operating Engineer, which has progressed into a leadership role in business development, has strengthened my ability to think strategically, communicate effectively, and contribute at a high-level. Complementing this, my long-standing involvement with St. Christina athletics as a coach since 2010, along with my experience officiating basketball at the high school level and teaching at the college level, reflects a consistent commitment to mentorship and youth development. This experience positions me to provide thoughtful, balanced input to the committee, with a focus on sustaining and advancing the standards that have made St. Christina a cornerstone of the Mt. Greenwood Community.”

Lauren Beil “I have been a part of St. Christina Parish and School since 1990. As an alumna of the school, I feel passionate about the success and wellbeing of this establishment, its students, faculty, and families within the community. St. Christina has played a meaningful role in shaping my values, work ethic, and sense of community, and I would love the opportunity to give back in a more impactful way. Serving on the School Advisory Committee would allow me to contribute my perspective while supporting the school’s continued growth and excellence. I am invested in helping

maintain strong academic standards, fostering a positive and inclusive environment, and ensuring that both current and future students have access to the same supportive and enriching experience that I was fortunate to receive. I also value collaboration and believe that open communication between school leadership, parents, and parish members is key to long-term success. I would approach this role with a willingness to listen, offer thoughtful input, and work alongside others to make decisions that best serve the school community. It would be an honor to support St. Christina in this capacity and to help strengthen a community that has given so much to me.”

Colleen McWalter “I have been very impressed with the curriculum at St. Christina, and I welcome the opportunity to support and strengthen the school’s continued growth. My role as an English Division Chair and Reading Specialist has helped me organize professional development in my building, as well as improve students’ overall reading abilities. I am passionate about curriculum planning and backwards designing. Since the

implementation of SMART Families, I have heard my son talk more about the impact technology has on him, albeit from a 7-year-old’s perspective. Again, this impresses me that our school is taking the time to ensure our students have a solid foundation, not only in academia, but also as a digital citizen. I hope to continue this work while serving on the School Advisory Committee. I would be honored to serve and contribute to the continued success of the St. Christina community, as both an educator and a parent who is deeply invested in the academic experience of our children.”

St. Christina Starts a New Tradition!

Bambinelli Sunday is a tradition in Italy for families to bring their Infant Jesus figure from their home Nativity scene to Mass on the Third Sunday of Advent. Fr. Ryan has brought this tradition all the way to Mt. Greenwood! The Sunday Masses of December 13 & 14, 2025 were an absolute blast!

No need to fret if you happened to miss the 2025 event, we'll bring it back in 2026. We hope to see you there!
