Religious Education Volunteers Needed
Faith: The Next Generation - Pass It On!
This fall, approximately 300 children and young people in kindergarten through eighth grade will participate in the St Christina Religious Education Program. We are currently seeking caring, reliable volunteers to serve as catechists, substitute catechists and office aides.
Becoming a catechist is a meaningful way to share your faith, support parish families and help young people grow in their relationship with Christ. You do not need to know everything about the Catholic faith to serve. Consistent support, lesson plans and teaching materials are provided.
As you help nurture the faith of our young people, you may be surprised by how much your own faith grows as well.
Religious Education classes begin September 13 & 15, 2026.
Sundays 8:45-10:15am OR Tuesdays 5:30-7pm
Please join us on August 31, 2026 @ 6pm in the Parish Center for the catechist and RE volunteer meeting.
Volunteer Requirements
All adult volunteers must complete the required background check, VIRTUS training and Archdiocesan safe-environment paperwork before volunteering.

Serving in Religious Education is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference in the faith lives of our children and families.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer Catechists
Adults age 18 and older are invited to teach and guide students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Catechists should be reliable, responsible, willing to share the Catholic faith and comfortable working with children.
Volunteer Substitute Catechists
Substitute catechists help when a regular catechist is unable to attend class. This is a wonderful option for those who would like to serve but cannot commit every week.
Religious Education Office Aides
Adults, or high school students may serve as office aides during Religious Education classes.
Office aides may assist with distributing materials, delivering messages, helping with early dismissals, preparing classroom supplies, collecting and monitoring hallways.
