$25 Gym Pass System

Dear Parents of St. Christina Athletes,

As you may know, we are instituting a $25 Gym Pass System for the St. Christina indoor sports program. The purpose of the program is twofold. The first and most important reason is to encourage family/friend support of our student athletes by waiving an entrance fee into the gym. The second and less important reason is to help us properly budget for gym supervision and maintenance needs. The goal of the program is to help you support your student athlete.

The pass system is very easy to explain, and we feel that the majority of our sport families will benefit from its use. The pass is good for all St. Christina sporting events for the school year. The $25 fee is only paid once, per family, for a given school year. This means multiple children playing multiple sports equals a one-time gym pass until the next school year. The fee is mandatory for all families whose children are participating in sports that utilize the gym for their games.

A little information about where your money goes when you pay at the door. The money goes to pay for the scorekeepers, referees, and individuals overseeing the day-to-day management of the gym. Any money left over goes to the parish, not the Athletic Association, to cover expenses associated with maintaining the facility.

Most families will realize a savings in a very small number of visits to the gym to watch games. Of course this savings will differ depending upon how many people are coming to watch and for how often the student athlete plays home games. It is important to remember that this is a once-per-school year pass and it may be used for all family members and friends. We encourage you to bring grandparents, aunts and uncles, and whoever else would like to cheer your athlete on. For those families who are not in a position to come to many games, the pass is still a benefit because it will help to insure a smooth-running and properly supervised game-time environment for all children involved in our indoor sports program.
